10. Obviously, things are exaggerated in this article to make a point. But what is the point? What is the author really saying about where fast food restaurants are located? In particular, what’s the significance of certain neighborhoods not having easily accessible grocery stores but plenty of fast food joints? How does this affect health? Keeping these questions in mind, write at least five of your observations regarding how different communities and neighborhoods are set up and the services/stores that are available to them. Compare two places that you’ve been. For example, how good are the streets? Are there lots of potholes? What kinds of stores are there? What kind of billboards are there? How much graffiti is there and how long does it stay up? Is it noisy? Are there lots of police? After you come up with five things, write how you think these things affect the quality of life. For example, neighborhoods that get graffiti covered up quickly and consistently tend to have less graffiti. Neighborhoods with few parks or walking trails tend to have people with more health problems. Answer this question after we discuss it as a class. (10 pts)
