This documentary takes an in-depth look at the machismo in rap music and hip-hop culture, where creative genius, poetic beauty and mad beats collide with misogyny, violence and homophobia. Produced in association with ITVS and NBPC.

Panelists who will lead a discussion after the program include:

• Montague Simmons, National Hip Hop Political Convention (St. Louis affiliate)
• MK Stallings, Urban Artist’s Alliance for Child Development
• Music educators and critics

I caught this event in Oakland, CA the other day and I HIGHLY recommend that everyone check this out. That includes those who aren't interested in hip hop!
