California Living

Posted Jul 12 2009

This basically covers some events from the past couple of events, in chronological order, The Asian Heritage Festival in San Francisco, The Malcolm X Jazz Festival in Oakland, random pics of Newport Beach in southern California, urban farming with Oakland’s Unity Live program, a performance by Detroit’s Octave One at Jelly’s in San Francisco, some Chicago Steppin’ in Sunnyvale, and open studios by the Taller Tupac Amaru in Oakland. In spite of California’s continued problems-the budget, rising unemployment, crime (I literally just heard gunshots!), etc-it’s hardly all doom and gloom. There are reasons we stay, in spite of it all!

Good Stuff, I'm looking forward to seeing some of this stuff later on. Alas, I must continue my education for now, someday Oakland, someday...

Oakland's not going anywhere! If you come back after school, you'll have that much more to offer to the scene!
