Hip Hop Meditations release parties - Bay Area

May 15 2004 9:00 PM - Two days of events in San Francisco and Oakland to celebrate the release of Carlos Mena's latest release Hip Hop Meditations. Some of ya'll might remember Carlos as a member of the group 10 Bass T from back in the day. At any rate, a bevy of hip hop's finest came out to support and perform. Among those not pictured below were Aya de Leon, Bomb Hip Hop founder David Paul, and Allseer. Hip hop fossils such as Kevvy Kev and Jeff "DJ Zen" Chang came out, while Speech and Za of Arrested Development and Tre Hardson, formerly of the Pharcyde, also performed. Up and coming sanger Sparlha Swa did her usual amazing performance (check for her!)and an extra special appearance by Afro-Cuban legend Lazaro Galarraga rounded things out nicely. The shows were only 10 dollars (!) and were undoubtedly some of the best events I've ever been involved with. Word up. Hip Hop Meditations Release Party Flier
