Posted Sep 9 2006
Visitor's came from all over the country to party and pick up some new steps at this annual event hosted by Damone Hodges and Malik Smith. Among the cities representing were Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Sacramento, and various other cities in northern California. After two days of classes and three nights of partying, it was an exhausting, yet unforgettable weekend crossing the Linen Life in Emeryville, Club Anton and the Malonga Casquelourd Center in Oakland, and the Lucre Lounge in Berkeley. While stepping dominated, including classes by world-class instructors such as David Maxx and Tic Man, others, such as Kevin Collins from Detroit brought Detroit Ballroom, Chop, bop, and Latin Hustle to the mix. For the second year in a row, April brought Detroit hustles out to the Bay, including classics such as the Bad Girl and Super Bad. Beyond dancing, some folks made time to get out and check out everything from the Raiders VS Lions game, to visiting Alcatraz, and grabbing some vittles at Dorsey's Locker Room. Another great weekend in the Town!
